Illinois Institute of Technology was created in 1940 after the merger of the Lewis Institute and the Armour Institute of Technology. It is a private university located in Chicago, Illinois and conducts many academic programs at the graduate and undergraduate levels. The university operates out of four campuses in the Chicago area and comprises of institutes, schools, colleges and research centers through which it offers all its academic programs. Programs are offered in the fields of: science, architecture, engineering, business, psychology, communications and professional development among others.
